Home

Your home base, come back here any time to see everything at a glance.

  1. Open Home from the sidebar. Every event you are on shows here. If you are on just one, Bazaar opens it for you the first time you arrive, and Home is always there in the sidebar when you want it.
  2. List is the default view. It shows everything coming up across every month, soonest first, with a countdown and anything the event needs from you.
  3. Use the filters beside the search field to switch between Upcoming, Needs attention, Overdue, and Past.
  4. Use the view toggle to switch to Day, Week, or Month, where "Jump to" and the arrows move the calendar by period.
  5. Search by event name to find any event, past or upcoming.
  6. Click an event to open it, or use View on its row.
Open in Bazaar

Create an event

Start a new event from scratch, or import several at once.

  1. Open Home. The "New event" button sits above the calendar.
  2. If you have not created anything yet, Home also offers a "Create your event" button in the middle of the page, which does the same thing.
  3. Pick "Reminder" for something that just needs a name and a date, or "Event" for the full form with guests, vendors and a schedule.
  4. Pick "Import CSV" to create several events at once from a spreadsheet.
  5. Pick "Import from calendar" to pull upcoming events from a Google or Apple calendar you have connected.
  6. The calendar re-centers on the new event, so you can open it and keep going.

Routines

Set something up once and Bazaar does it every time: when you are booked, when a deposit lands, when an event ends.

  1. Open Routines in the sidebar. A routine watches for something happening and then does what you would have done.
  2. Click "New routine" to start one. It is created switched off, so nothing runs until you say so.
  3. Pick when it should run: an inquiry arriving, being booked, a deposit landing, an event ending, a call coming up.
  4. Add what should happen. Steps your plan does not cover are still shown, and the rest of the routine still runs without them.
  5. The panel on the right says in one sentence what the routine will do, so you can read it before switching it on.
  6. Switch it on with the toggle. Your plan sets how many can run at once; switching one off frees a slot.
  7. Playbooks are the task lists a routine puts on an event. Open the Playbooks card at the bottom of the Routines page to see the ones you have, or capture one from real work with Run of show, More, then "Save as Template".
Open in Bazaar

Filter your events

See only the events that need something from you, or that have slipped.

  1. Open Home. List view is the default; if you are in Day, Week, or Month, switch back with the view toggle.
  2. Use the chips beside the search field: Upcoming, Needs attention, Overdue, or Past.
  3. "Needs attention" shows any event with something outstanding, including a contract that was only just sent.
  4. "Overdue" is narrower on purpose. It shows only what is actually past its date, such as an overdue task or invoice.
  5. Each row says what it needs, so you can go straight to the event that is holding things up.
Open in Bazaar

Switch calendar view

Switch the dashboard between list, day, week, and month views.

  1. Open Home. The view toggle sits on the same row as the search field, above the calendar.
  2. List is the default. It shows everything coming up across every month, soonest first, rather than one calendar page at a time.
  3. Day, Week, and Month show a single calendar page. Step through it with the arrows, or use "Jump to" to land on a date.
  4. Your choice is remembered on this browser, so Home opens the same way next time.
Open in Bazaar

Jump to a date

Re-center the calendar on a specific day, week, or month.

Find it: Dashboard, the "Jump to" control in the calendar bar

Open in Bazaar

Search for an event

Find an event by name from anywhere on the calendar. Results cover all time, not just the period you are looking at, and split into Upcoming and Past.

  1. Open Home.
  2. Type into the "Search events" field in the calendar bar. On a narrow screen, tap the magnifier beside the date arrows first.
  3. Results replace the calendar and cover all time, grouped into Upcoming and Past, so you do not have to be on the right month.
  4. It matches the event name, so a venue or a note will not find it.
  5. Click an event to open it, or clear the field to get the calendar back.

Add something simple, without the planning tools

Not everything needs a guest list and a budget. A Reminder asks only for a name and a date, and gives you one page: when everyone is reminded, and who is coming. The Event tab is the full thing whenever you want it.

  1. On Home, open the "New event" dropdown and choose Reminder.
  2. Type what it is and when. That is the whole form.
  3. Optionally pick what kind of thing it is: a film, a concert, a trip, a reservation. That is how Bazaar knows to remind you about a film the way you like to be reminded about films.
  4. Save, and Bazaar opens the page for it.
  5. From there you can set your reminders and invite people.
  6. If it turns out to need more, "Add planning tools" at the bottom of the page gives it guests, vendors, a budget and a schedule. That is one-way.
  7. Planning something bigger from the start? Choose Event instead, either from the dropdown or from the tabs at the top of the dialog.

Get reminded about an event

A reminder event reminds everyone who said they are coming. It starts at the day before and an hour before; the reminders row on the page changes that, or turns it off. Anyone who has set their own timing in account settings gets theirs instead. People with the app get a push; everyone else gets a text or an email.

  1. Open the event.
  2. The row under the date says when everyone is reminded. Choose Change.
  3. Tick any of a week, a day, three hours, an hour, or fifteen minutes before.
  4. Save. Anyone who has said they are coming gets this, unless they have set their own timing in account settings.
  5. Untick everything to switch reminders off for this event.
Open in Bazaar

Tick off what needs doing before something

A routine can put your usual list of things to do onto anything you are counting down to, with each one dated back from the day itself. Tick them off as you go.

  1. Open the event. If anything has put tasks on it, they are under "What needs doing", with a count of how many are done.
  2. Click a task to tick it off, and click it again to undo. There is nothing to save.
  3. A task shows the date it should be done by when the routine that added it set one.
  4. Nothing is shown at all until something adds tasks, so an event you have not automated looks exactly as it did.
  5. To put tasks there, open Routines, add a routine on "you create an event", and give it the "Add my checklist" step. Every event of that type gets the list from then on.
Open in Bazaar

Invite friends to something

Invite is one step: pick people from your contacts or type a phone number or an email, and Bazaar adds them and sends the invite together. They can reply without an account, and anyone who has the app also gets a push.

  1. Open the event and choose Invite.
  2. Search your contacts, or type a phone number or an email for someone who is not in them.
  3. Everyone you pick is listed above the results, so a search cannot lose them.
  4. Choose Send. Bazaar adds them and sends the invite in one go.
  5. The first time, you confirm you have permission to contact them, and confirming sends the invite. That is asked once per event.
  6. Their replies show under "Who's coming".

Bazaar warns you when an event already exists

While you type a new event, Bazaar checks the ones you already have. If it finds a match it says so before you save, and offers to open the existing event instead. If the two are different parts of one weekend, it offers to add the new one as another day of that celebration. Nothing is ever created or removed for you. You choose, and "It's a different event" creates it anyway.

Set up a routine

Set something up once and Bazaar does it every time.

  1. Open Routines from the sidebar, then click "New routine". It is created switched off, so nothing runs until you say so.
  2. Under When, pick the moment it should run: an inquiry arriving, being booked, a deposit landing, an event ending, a call coming up. Add a delay if it should wait.
  3. Pick "the event is coming up" to work backwards from the event date instead. That one takes several moments at once, so "6 months", "3 months" and "2 weeks" is one routine, not three. A moment that has already passed for an event is skipped rather than sent late, and if the date moves the rest re-schedule themselves.
  4. "A call is coming up" and "a call has finished" take several moments the same way, on a scale that suits a call: an hour before and the day before is one routine. If the call is moved, a moment that no longer lines up is held back rather than sent at the wrong time.
  5. With more than one moment chosen, each step under Then gets a "Runs at" row. Every moment is lit by default, which means the step runs at all of them; tap one off to have that step run only where you want it. That is how one routine sends the questionnaire at six months and the final headcount at two weeks.
  6. Under If, add a condition to narrow it, such as at least a certain number of guests, or how close the event is. The page tells you how many times it would have run over the last 30 days, so you can see what a threshold actually costs you.
  7. Under Then, add the steps. If you add "Add my task list to the event", pick which playbook from the list beside it, or that step will do nothing. Steps your plan does not cover are still shown, and the rest of the routine still runs without them.
  8. On a personal routine (not a business one) the steps are different, because the moments are: you get "Add my checklist" and "Send me a reminder". Write the checklist straight into the step, one line each, and set when each one is due relative to the date. There is no playbook to make first, and personal routines are free with no limit on how many run.
  9. Read the dark panel on the right. It says in one sentence what the routine will do.
  10. Use "Try it on a real one" to see what would have happened on your most recent record. Nothing is sent.
  11. Switch it on with the toggle at the top. Your plan sets how many can run at once.
Open in Bazaar

Test a routine before switching it on

See what a routine would have done, without sending anything.

  1. Open the routine and click "Try it on a real one".
  2. It runs against your most recent matching record and shows what would have happened, step by step.
  3. For a message, it shows the real wording with the names filled in, so you can catch a "Hi there," where you expected a name.
  4. Nothing is sent. This is a rehearsal, and you can run it as often as you like.
  5. If a step says it would be held back, the reason is the same one the routine would record in its log.

Delete a routine

Remove a routine for good. What it already did stays in the log.

  1. Open Routines and find the one you want gone.
  2. Use the "..." menu on that routine and choose Delete, then confirm.
  3. It stops running straight away and cannot be brought back. If you only want a pause, use the switch instead, which keeps everything you wrote.
  4. What it already did stays in the log, so a message it sent last month is still accounted for.
  5. Deleting a routine you copied from one of ours does not remove ours; you can copy it again from the empty state.
Open in Bazaar

Switch a routine on or off

Start or stop a routine. Switching one off never deletes it.

  1. Open Routines and use the switch on the routine you want to change.
  2. Switching one off stops it acting. Everything you wrote is kept, so switching it back on picks up where it left off.
  3. For a business, your plan sets how many can run at once. If you are at the limit, switch one off to free a slot, or use "See plans" on the message that appears to run as many as you like.
  4. Your own personal routines are free, with no limit on how many run.
  5. On the app, the Routines screen under More lists what is running and lets you switch one off there too.

Build a task list a routine can use

Build a reusable task list, which a routine can put on an event for you.

  1. Open Routines from the sidebar, then pick the Playbooks tab. A playbook is the task list a routine adds to an event.
  2. Click "Add playbook" for a blank one, or open a playbook already there to edit it. With none yet, "Or start from one of ours" copies one of Bazaar's in, ready to edit. You can also capture one from real work (below).
  3. Rename it, then add the schedule items you want to reuse.
  4. Under Checklists, click "New list" for each stage of planning you want every event to start with, name it, and add its tasks. Use the arrows on a list to put them in the order you work.
  5. To capture one from real work instead, open an event’s Run of show, pick More, then "Save as Template" and tick "Include checklists". Your named lists come across as they are, with their reminders, repeats and due dates.
  6. Then add an "Add my task list to the event" step to a routine and pick this playbook, and it goes on every matching event without you.

Help and search

Open Help and search from anywhere to get step-by-step answers for the screen you are on, find a feature, look up a vendor or an event, or ask a question in your own words.

  1. Click the question mark in the top-right of the header, or press Cmd K (Ctrl K on Windows). It is in the account menu as well.
  2. The hub opens on help for the page you are on, so what you are stuck on is usually already listed.
  3. Type to find a feature by name or by what you want to do. Matching vendors and events appear below the feature matches.
  4. Open a result for a step-by-step, and use "Take me there" to jump straight to the control.
  5. Switch to Ask to put a question in your own words when you cannot find the words we used.
