Music and song requests

Build the playlist and let guests request songs.

Songs

Collect song requests and shape the playlist for this event.

  1. Open the event and go to the Songs tab. It is for people on the event, so anyone opening your event link never sees it.
  2. Use "Add Song" to search and add tracks yourself, and "Link playlist" to link an Apple Music playlist and pull its tracks in.
  3. Re-sync a linked playlist any time to pick up tracks you added in Apple Music.
  4. Filter by tag or source, and export the list as a PDF for your DJ or band.
  5. Guests cannot add, request or vote on songs yet, on either the website or the app, and your linked playlist stays hidden from them. Guest song requests are coming as one feature: you will choose whether to accept them, and be able to ask an attending guest for one as part of their RSVP.

You will need an event exists first.

Link a playlist

Link an Apple Music playlist to the event and pull its tracks onto the song list.

First, in Apple Music

  1. Open the playlist in Apple Music and copy its share link.
  2. The playlist has to be shared publicly. We read it as any listener would, so a private playlist is invisible to us.
  3. Use Share, then Copy Link, and turn on "Show on my profile and in search" for the playlist. The link should contain a pl. id.
  1. Open the event and go to the Songs tab.
  2. Click "Link playlist".
  3. Paste the Apple Music playlist link. Open "Where do I find this link?" in the modal if you are not sure which link to copy.
  4. Tracks are pulled in and appear alongside your guests' song requests.
  5. Re-sync any time to pick up tracks you added in Apple Music since.
  6. Spotify cannot be linked: it stopped letting apps read the contents of a playlist you did not create yourself. A Spotify playlist linked before that keeps the songs it already imported, and can be unlinked from the same place.

You will need an event exists first.

Manage song requests

Add songs to the event playlist. Search the catalog by song or artist, or type the title and artist in by hand. There are no guest requests to approve yet: that is coming as one feature, with a setting for whether you accept them at all.

  1. Open the event and go to Songs.
  2. Click "Add Song", or "Add a song" if the list is empty.
  3. Search by song or artist name and pick a result. Type at least 3 characters to start the search.
  4. Not in the catalog? Choose "Can't find it? Add manually" and type the "Song name" and "Artist (optional)". Pasting a YouTube link offers "Add from YouTube link".
  5. Tag it "must play" or "don't play", or type your own tag and press Enter. Add a "Song note (optional)", and tie it to a moment under "Schedule (optional)".
  6. Click "Save", or "Save & New" to add another. If the song is already on the list, choose "Skip", "Merge" or "Replace".
  7. To bring in a whole playlist at once, click "Link playlist" to import from Apple Music.
